12 and a Half Weeks

We went to the doctor today and everything is going smoothly. He said all my tests came back normal and the baby is growing just fine. We had a hard time getting a really good picture with the ultrasound today because the little one kept moving around. It's for sure a Fry because it's already active.

Look at those legs and arms!

Fry in the Fryer

That's right. Dan and I are going to have a baby! This isn't news to some special select few but to those who don't know....YA! We debated on when to make our pregnancy public. I was getting too impatient. I wanted to tell everyone I saw but then they would think I'm some crazy lady. So Dan and I talked and thought 12 weeks is a good amount of time. Tomorrow is 12 weeks and we have our 2nd appointment this Thursday. We'll get to see the baby again!
Our awesome family has kept this exciting news for almost 2 months now. We found out we were pregnant 2 days before we were leaving for Christmas break. We were spending almost 2 weeks with my family. 11 people in one house, there was no way I'd be able to keep that secret from them. So we put a plan together with the help of some awesome friends of ours. This is what we gave our family for Christmas.
Thank you Pinterest
We put it in a frame and wrote "Guess What" at the bottom. Long story short, both sides of the family shared our joy.
Like I said we have another appointment on Thursday (hopefully it will provide more pictures) but we do want to share the 8 week pictures we have.

Strong Heartbeat
Last thing, I saw this girls blog on Pinterest and she has this list of things for each week of pregnancy. They are the same questions each week but obviously the answers can change each week. I wish I would have started this sooner but better late than never. (I know, long post but we're just so excited)

How far along? 11 Weeks, 6 Days
Total weight gain/loss: Last time I checked it was only a pound but that’s probably changed.
Maternity clothes? Just a skirt that is still too big for me.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: In the late afternoon I get pretty tired, but sleep great at night still.
Best moment this week: Telling a girl I share a couple classes with I'm pregnant. She got really excited.
Have you told family and friends: Family found out a long time ago. Friends will find out now.
Miss Anything? Runny eggs!!!
Movement: Not yet
Food cravings: Anything Mexican; the spicier the better. Salad.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really.
Have you started to show yet: A little bump but it just looks like I’m getting fat.
Gender prediction: I think it’s a boy.
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy. When I get tired I get moody but that’s normal even without pregnancy.
Weekly Wisdom: Stay active as much as possible.
Looking forward to: Our next appointment on Thursday. We’ll get to see the baby again. J

Studying

This is how Dan likes to study these days. Maybe he can get some osmosis action going or something.

Birthday Boy and Craziness Around It

So Dan's birthday was this last week (Dec. 7). I had some ideas of what to do for his birthday but he had so much stuff to do before this week that we kept it simple. On Wednesday, I took work off and we headed to Idaho Falls. We stopped by Men's Warehouse to discover he had $50 credit. They had a buy one get one free sale going on. We got him 2 new dress shirts and 2 really nice ties. We then headed over to Red Robin for some birthday burgers. They sang to him and he got a small ice cream sundae. They even gave him balloons that they made him put behind his ears while they sang. It was quite enjoyable. I'm so lucky to have such an amazing husband who is a big kid at heart.

Balloons!!!!
Christmas is a week and a half away!!!!! I'm so excited. We're going to Spokane to see my family. Dan and I both need a break. I've been trying to get into the Christmas spirit lately. I've been listening to Christmas music, watching some Christmas movies, I even semi-decorated the apartment. I made a wreath for the door and I love it. I keep getting complements on it and that's always nice.

The Wreath
Even after all that it still doesn't fully feel like Christmas. You want to know why. Because there is NO SNOW. In Rexburg Idaho there is no snow (funny enough as I write this, it's snowing outside ;)). It has snowed here but it never stays. It always melts away within that afternoon or the next day. So we'll see if this time is any different. I just don't want a ton of snow to make it where we can't leave for Christmas.
What it looked like yesterday.

The Much Needed Thanksgiving Break

This last week, as everyone knows, was Thanksgiving. Dan and I made the trek over to Washington to be with his family this year. We were so excited. That feels like an understatement to me because we were just so pumped about having a break and seeing family. Everyone was able to make it except for John of course who is on his mission. We had an amazing week filled with awesomeness. We had great food provided by my amazing mother-in-law and sisters-in-law, did some crazy Black Friday shopping, Dan got to go shooting, went to the American Girl store with all the nieces and nephews and flat out got to hang out with family. We loved being able to see all the nieces and nephews. As crazy as it sounds we miss all the kids running around. We miss the family already so much and wish we all lived closer together. I don't have many pictures from the week but here are a few that I have/attained from family. They are also out of order.

Kids playing at the fountain. Pretending to be magic.

Our new family picture. We love it.

Family gathered around the table for the feast.
The last thing I saw as we were flying out of Seattle. Highlight of my flight.

Me with 2 of my adorable nieces.
